Dr. Cosgrove completed his medical degree at University College Dublin (MB BCh BaO) in 2008. Following internship in Dublin, he spent a year working in Emergency Medicine in Australia prior to returning to Ireland to complete Basic Specialist Training in General Medicine. During the following 10 years while working in large Dublin based teaching hospitals he became interested in Allergy Medicine.
Dr. Cosgrove spent time participating in immunology based research as a Research Fellow at the prestigious Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. On his return to Ireland he spent several further years working in both Adult and Paediatric Hospitals in Dublin and earned fellowship of the Irish College of General Practitioners. He has subsequently completed a postgraduate diploma in Allergy and Clinical Immunology from University College Cork as part of their Masters programme. Dr. Cosgrove joined Allergy Ireland in 2020. He is a member of the British Society of Allergy & Clinical Immunology (BSACI).
In his spare time Dr. Cosgrove plays soccer for the St. Vincent's medical soccer team and he has represented the Irish medical soccer team overseas.
He is very popular with patients and staff.
